- Guild Wars 2 will have 8 classes available to play, each class is specific on their own ways. From support, tank and assassin classes each group will have to have balanced classes.
- Since GW2 is a new game but for most of people who did play MMORPG games you have some kind of idea how the game should function and what each group should contain.
- Mesmer
- Engineer
- Thief
- Guardian
- Necromancer
- Ranger
- Warrior
- Elementalist

Before you do give your vote for class you will be playing check each class and think about it, vote can be canceled and you are able to change your decision after you review the classes and hope to see all on Beta tests.

Mesmer ofc - one of most skill-dependant classes, if you master it - it's really rewarding. Played this shet in GW1, gonna do the same in GW2 Smile

I have absolutely no idea of how the classes are, or their roles in a party.

Just looking at the descriptions, I think a ranger would be fun.

Can some1 make some kind of parallelism between GW classes and L2 classes? Which one is tank, which one is healer, nuker, etc. Would help us GW ignorants Very Happy

Brief summary of classes:

Mesmer: Debuffing/countering/confusing the enemies, most useful in pevupe.

Engineer: Can plant turrets/minefields/flaming walls etc. Very good for controlling the battlefield.

Thief - well, not much to say, its a classic stealth class with huge single-target dmg.

Guardian - Its a hybrid of buffer/tank/healer, it looks like it will be very useful in every party.

Necro - Classic necro Smile Has a lot of debuffs/minions and some nukes aswell (not too strong the nukes tho Razz)

Ranger - Preety much like the archers in l2, but has also party-assisting pets (they give auraz), and can lay down traps to controll the surroundings Smile

Warrior - melee dps class, builds up rage as he hits things, then spends this rage on his skills Smile Deals less dmg than thief but has way more survivability.

Elementalist - classic nuker, has a great range of offensive spells, and probly has the highest ranged dps in the game, but he lacks at defensive and area-controlling skills.

Hope this helps u guys Razz

PS. Hai Nosense Razz

Can I add that Warrior can be played as a healer/buffer support role (either with 2h hammer for CC's, or warhorn and battlestandard for buffs). This can be said for a lot of other classes. (the skill 'Battle standard' is like an Insta aoe res for allies)
Guardian is btw a great control char, he can plant those 'walls' on the ground to prevent ppl from getting through, pretty viable for pvp Very Happy

ps: sup goferzo Very Happy

I've got some pretty cool vid's bout the classes.

Well i don't see tz as institution but a community, expecting to be a factor with 20 ppl in such big game wouldn't be realistic and honestly i wont be in mood of creating a zerg and no lifing in order to please someones free time at that moment i did in last 5,6 years since clan exists like no life mode and found my self at one moment where i couldn't and i seen something i thought wouldn't happen since i had more fate in some ppl but ok is another topic.

What my plan is to talk here, form groups play together etc Smile, if this works for all of you good if not still good, not gonna force anyone on anything if they don't want it by them self Smile

You are wrong - to pvp u dont need pve at all, all is unlockable through pvp points.

I find dungeons realy interesting and I cant imagine not doing them even of u can do everything only by pvp plus I feel that pve in this game will be much funier than in lineage or any other MMO's. And also I hope that there will be plenty of exciting quests Smile

Yes, and also your personal story seems really neat, with all the customization you can do. Also you can find gear in those dungeons you cannot get in pvp. On the other hand you can buy special pvp gear at pvp vendors, similarly in wow.
